Vegan Options at TGI Friday's

It’s 2023, and TGI Friday’s has finally caught up to the times! That’s right – starting this year, all of their restaurants will be serving a vegan menu. Finally, vegans and vegetarians can enjoy a night out at one of America’s most popular chain restaurants. The new menu features items such as vegan quesadillas, vegan buffalo wings, and even a vegan version of the classic TGI Friday’s dish – Jack Daniel’s grilled salmon. So mark your calendars, friends, it is the time to visit TGI Friday’s.

TGI Friday’s vegan options are excellent, and you may easily eat a hearty meal at their restaurants while being a vegan.

Vegan Appetizers at TGI Friday’s:

There are plenty of vegan appetizers to choose from at TGI Friday’s. Some of our favorites include the following:

  • Tostado Nachos* (Swap the cheese and sour cream out for Guac and the meat for beyond meat if they let you)
  • Chips and Guac
  • Fruit Bowl (not all locations)
  • Hummus and Bread/Chips (depends on the location which they have)

To put it another way, while the nachos dish isn’t on the menu formally, they usually have a chips and guacamole option that’s less expensive than the nachos option, and you get pretty much the same stuff in it – and if you want a fruit salad, it’s not on the menu but I’ve been with people who ordered it. It’s like putting three to four fruit cup sides together to make a decent appetizer or dessert if you prefer.

Vegan Burgers & Sandwiches at TGI Friday’s:

The following are some of the best sandwiches and burgers available at TGI Friday’s:

  • Avo & Veggies Sandwich (off-menu, see below)
  • Beyond Meat Cheeseburger (Specify no cheese and swap the bun for Challah bun)
  • Black Bean Avo Burger (confirm with staff if vegan, sometimes bun or sauce isn’t)

It’s all right to describe what came before, as the gluten-free buns at TGI Friday’s aren’t vegan-friendly.

If you want more whole-food options, ask for avocado slices and grilled/sauteed veggies on your bun instead of black bean avo. If your country has a longer growing season, you may request for zucchini or squash in the veggie sandwich at certain locations.

The vegan Avo and veggies sandwich is not on the menu, but you can ask for it! Just tell your server that you want a challah bun with avocado on top of it and grilled veggies inside – no cheese. It comes out to about $11, but that’s still cheaper than getting the black bean burger and leaving off all the non-vegan stuff!

Vegan Salad & Soups at TGI Friday’s:

  • Chinese Salad (Swap Chicken for Beyond Meat, or just specify no chicken)
  • Sesame Citrus Dressing
  • House Salad (No Cheese or Croutons, swap for Citrus Dressing)
  • French Onion Soup (No Cheese)
  • Loaded Potato Soup (No Bacon, No Cheese)
  • Tomato Basil Bisque (No Cream)

There is some vegan food at TGI Friday’s. They have a Chinese Salad where you can replace the chicken with Beyond Meat, or just get it without any meat. There is also a House Salad, but no cheese or croutons. You can request a citrus dressing instead. The salads come with a sesame citrus dressing. It’s generally just a house salad or a Chinese salad, so we didn’t include each one.

Vegan Side Dishes & Sauces at TGI Friday’s in:

  • Fruit Cup
  • Super Veggies (not all locations, was an old menu item – basically steamed veg)
  • Bread with Mariana sauce (off-menu, but always available).
  • Spaghetti with marinara sauce
  • French Fries

There are a few vegan side dishes and sauces available at TGI Friday’s. The Fruit Cup, Super Veggies (not all locations), Bread with Mariana sauce (off-menu but always available), and Spaghetti with marinara sauce are all vegan. French fries can also be made vegan by ordering them without gravy.

Side dishes are the new vegan entrees at TGI Friday’s in 2023. Fries, corn tortilla chips (with salsa & guacamole), tater tots, and jalapeño poppers make up 75% of all food orders at TGIFridays these days. In addition to sides and sauces, vegan desserts are also becoming quite popular. Coconut cream pie, peanut butter chocolate cake with raspberry sauce, and carrot cake are all fan favorites!

Vegan Desserts at TGI Friday’s:

  • None

Aside from a fruit cup, TGI Fridays doesn’t offer any vegan-friendly desserts; of course, you may choose for a sweet beverage as an alternative, but we won’t mention them here since they are also almost always vegan. Plus, to us, they don’t qualify as desserts because the ones they have aren’t really sweets.
